With rapid growth along the Tauranga coast, a new primary school was essential to the Papamoa community.

 

Located close to pristine Papamoa beach and overlooking the Waiariki Wetlands Reserve; the new school is built to 5 GreenStar sustainable design principles to support the protection and enhancement of its environment.

 

The latest international thinking on school design was explored by the team, creating an educational environment that is flexible and helps make learning fun. The client’s vision is the ‘Heart of Flax’, which represents our children.

 

This concept is expressed in the library building and main court which are the Heart of the school.
