You can often find us out in the the evenings and weekends spending time with family & friends, creating some action on the water, or exploring all the sights that New Zealand has to offer.

First Principles Architects & Interiors is grounded on Graham’s own personality and approach to people and architecture

INTERIORS & CO-OWNER

Kate has been involved in interior specification & design in the Bay of Plenty for the past 12 years. Her philosophy is simple, to add value to projects through creativity within budget, in close collaboration with the client and the architect. This provides a delivery of service that is independent of the supply chain and results in spaces that are inspiring, comfortable and, most of all, workable.

Ray Atkins

RAY ATKINS

ASSOCIATE

Ray graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Architecture (Hons) from Victoria University, Wellington. Ray draws on 13 years of experience backed up with 10 years of on site construction experience and significant university teaching involvement. He has gained professional experience on a wide range of commercial, boutique interiors and educational projects, along with delivering multiple residential architectural projects throughout New Zealand. Ray has extensive high level Revit and BIM modelling experience, controlling and co-ordinating 3D models from multiple consultants, thus ensuring the delivery of concise and accurate documentation.

CHRIS DAVIES

SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL GRADUATE

Chris is an experienced designer, well-versed in the intricacies of the New Zealand building code and proficient in a variety of software tools. Chris’s primary focus lies in seamlessly guiding projects from concept through to construction, ensuring a smooth journey throughout. With meticulous attention to detail, Chris specialises in creating clear and precise documentation to ensure a project’s successful completion. With a firm grasp on the technical aspects of architecture, Chris brings a comprehensive approach to every stage, resulting in outstanding outcomes for all involved. KARIMA LOUW

SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL GRADUATE

Karima joined First Principles in March 2019 and has quickly integrated to became a vital part of the team. Karima graduated from the University of Pretoria with Honours Degree in Architecture in 2014. Karima has had 5 years experience on Residential, Multi Residential & Commercial work.

Karima is highly skilled in Revit, Image Rendering, Photoshop and CAD documentation.

With a solid academic foundation, Megan quickly immersed herself in the professional world, gaining valuable experience within her previous practice's. Her insatiable thirst for knowledge and personal growth makes her an enthusiastic learner. Megan's dedication to continuous improvement and her passion for pushing the boundaries of architectural design are evident in her work. She approaches each project with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to creating sustainable and innovative spaces. Megan's goal is to make a meaningful impact on the built environment while constantly expanding her expertise in the field of architecture.
