We are pleased to share that FPA was engaged by Pukehinahina Charitable Trust, in partnership with Ngāi Tamarāwaho, to establish an architectural concept in response to the clients vision for a cultural and historic centre on the Gate Pā Recreation Reserve.

The significance of the centre’s location is extraordinary, as it is anchored on the actual site of the 1864 Battle of Gate Pā, along The Pā’s redoubts with trenches and bunkers. The clients brief incorporated workshop spaces, exhibition areas, performing arts spaces,  and an itegration of technology to allow an immersion into the history of New Zealand Land Wars.
