RADISSON BLU - DENARAU ISLAND LOBBY UPGRADE

After 5 years of Operation Radisson Denarau and the Board decided it was time to upgrade the main Lobby building. This was brought about by the success of Radisson as a preferred family resort in Fiji and the need to intensify the Food and Beverage offering and upgrade furniture and finishes.

First Principles Architects were engaged to complete the design and delivery of this contract, as Graham Price was the original design director for the resort with a previous practice.

This also provided an opportunity to provide a Thai influenced Watercourt restaurant, the Orchid cocktail bar and a new reception / check in area.
The interpretation of the Fijian culture was maintained but in a more contemporary way with lighter finishes and local carvings and mahogany furniture.

Radisson Denarau is a destination experience - a retreat where guests can escape from the routine of everyday life. The concept design explores the creation of an exotic environment which is as much colourful and exciting as it is tropical and restful.

The 250 bedroom resort wraps itself around an internal lagoon made up of swimming

pools, waterfalls, and lush gardens. This becomes the focal point of the complex as well as a place to play, sunbathe and interact. It is also a physical and visual extension of the beach and sea, which is maintained by keeping the very large courtyard open on one side.
