This project was completed as Senior Partner at a previous practice

 

Pemba Beach Hotel, Pemba, Mozambique is located along a cliffside overlooking the Indian Ocean. The culture and character of Pemba has been influenced by the traditional Arab trading route along the East Coast of Africa.

 

The design for the 5 star hotel reflects a true Northern Mozambique identity through its form and materials.The arrival experience is through an elevated courtyard with fountains to keep the building cool and reflect the traditional building forms.
